Kyle Walker, Manchester City’s seasoned right-back and current club captain, has expressed his desire to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. The 34-year-old approached the club’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, to request a move to “another country,” as confirmed by Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola. Walker’s absence from the squad during Manchester City’s commanding 8-0 victory over Salford City in the FA Cup last Saturday was a direct result of this request.
Walker has been a pivotal figure at Manchester City since joining from Tottenham in 2017. Known for his speed and defensive prowess, he has been instrumental in the club's numerous successes over the years. Despite his significant contributions, Walker has found himself on the bench more frequently this season due to a dip in form.
